• Complementary Veterinary Medicine In Your Own Home •
with no need to change your own vet
As a vet with over 26 years of experience and further training in veterinary acupuncture and herbal medicine my approach to animal health care is known as Integrated Veterinary Medicine. This means the combination of effective complementary therapies such as acupuncture and herbal medicine along with the conventional veterinary treatments like blood tests, ultrasound and surgery.

This approach is well recognised in Europe and USA but has been slower to catch on in the UK. However, most vets nowadays recognise the benefits of certain complementary therapies but lack the training and experience themselves. This is where I come in. I work in collaboration with your own vet to offer your pet the best possible care and treatment options, such as specialist care in herbal medicine and acupuncture whilst maintaining routine and emergency care from your own vet

These therapies can help with many diseases and disorders such as:
  • Arthritis and joint pain
  • Back pain and disc problems
  • Cancer management
  • Behavioural problems
  • Incontinence
  • Chronic Liver and Renal failure
  • Skin problems
  • Heart and Lung problems
  • Prostate disease
  • Bowel conditions
  • Constipation
  • Lick granuloma
I believe that by examining your pet in their home environment, where they are more relaxed and themselves, I can obtain a more accurate picture of their problems. This in turn helps me to address and solve your concerns in the comfort of their own livingroom or kitchen or lounge or garden! Wherever your pet feels most at ease and relaxed.
A word or two about treating pets with cancer....
When they realise that their pet has cancer many owners will understandably want to try anything in order to help and will often turn to alternative treatments in the hope that they will find a cure. Unfortunately this is very rarely the case. I always try to be very clear on this point and explain that although I cannot offer a cure, I can in many cases help to improve their pets quality of life for the time they have left and sometimes even slow down the progression of the disease.

Special Note to Referring Vets
I appreciate your referral of interesting and challenging cases. If possible, I prefer that you perform all ancillary tests such as radiography,
bloodwork etc. It is helpful if you can fax, email or post me a patient history prior to the appointment along with any test results, radiographs etc (which will be returned). After I have seen the patient I will inform you of my treatment and recommendations. No changes to your current treatments will be advised by me until I have discussed this with yourself. You will remain the primary and emergency care provider for the patient.
